Q: What are home care services?
A: Home care is care that allows a person with special needs to stay in their home.Home care might be for people who are getting older, are chronically ill or disabled, or recovering from surgery or an accident. Care can be provided by skilled nursing, home health aides, personal care assistants, homemakers, companions and live-in caregivers.
Q: Who needs home care?
A: People who live alone and need additional help with activities of daily living and want to stay at home. In other cases, it could be for family members whose caregiver needs a respite or time off from their caregiving responsibilities.

A: Our main service focus is southeast and mid-Michigan.
Q: Who pays for Home Care?
A: In Your Golden Years accepts a variety of insurances including Medicaid waiver and Medicaid through the DHS/ FIA, Long Term Care Insurance. In addition, coverage is available for qualified veterans. We also accept private pay.

How much does home care cost?
A:
Our rates are always below the average going market prices due to our low overhead business model. Our costs are $15 per hour. On holidays the cost is $17 per hour.

Q: Are the caregivers independent contractors?
A: No, all caregivers are employees of In Your Golden Years. We pay the caregivers and cover all necessary expenses related to their training, worker's benefits, sick leave, etc...
Q: Do you conduct background checks?
A: Yes. Each employee must pass a background check as well as a sexual database search prior to being placed out in the field. We also complete past work reference checks and verify certifications and licenses.
Q: Do your caregivers have experience providing personal care?
A: We feel that if a client requires personal care such as bathing, dressing, transfers etc. then the caregiver should be fully trained and qualified to perform these functions. In Your Golden Years provides the training that is required to provide you or your loved one with the care deemed necessary to meet your needs.
Q: How long does it take to get a caregiver?
A: We will meet with you or your family member for an initial consultation to assess your needs. After the consultation, a caregiver will be assigned and services can begin immediately. There is no waiting period.
Q: Can I meet the caregiver in advance?
A: Of course. During our initial consultation we will assess your care needs, values, as well as your cultural and language prerferences and personality so that we can match you with the right caregiver.
Q: What if my caregiver is ill, has an emergency or on vacation?
A: We will send a fill-in if your caregiver cannot make it. We have an on-call supply of excellent caregivers who can be ready to fill in in case of absences.
